Some of the illnesses found on Obsidian Bones are also known upon Earth, however most are particular to this planet. Please try to avoid wolves with the sicknesses… at all costs… just a suggestion…

NAME ;; Tollere Vultus
A.K.A. ;; Wailing Sickness
OCCURRENCE ;; Common
CURES ;; If caught in the first stage, a sweet herb called Alastor will gradually expel the parasite. It must only be consumed once. After that, rest and time will finish the healing process.
If treated in the second stage, Alastor will still be needed as well as the root of a Kethus tree. Together, they’ll rid the victim of the parasite, though it will take some time and rest. Also, the victim will still suffer from neurological damage, as mentioned below.
DESCRIPTION ;; A parasite that crawls into its victims’ stomachs and multiplies, spreading throughout their body and targeting virtually anything. If untreated in the first stage, it causes irreparable neurological damage; if untreated in its second stage, it is fatal. Victims of this sickness often moan and wail throughout their final stages because they are so far gone.
SYMPTOMS ;;
Effects of the first stage;;
High fevers, joint pains (mostly in the shoulders), leg cramps, incessant itching, vomiting, and severe stomach pains
Effects of the second stage;;
Delirium, sensory disturbances, poor coordination, disrupted sleep cycles, dehydration, and ultimately death.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -UNCOMMON ILLNESSES AND DISEASES
NAME ;; Cruor Iuguolo
A.K.A. ;; Blood Eater
OCCURRENCE ;; Uncommon
CURES ;; Consumption of bark from the Tialone Willow Tree
DESCRIPTION ;; A parasitic worm that leeches on to the red blood cells and multiplies within the cell. The cells bursts and more worms are dispersed into the blood stream
SYMPTOMS ;; Blurry vision, weakness, lethargy, increased appetite, sensitivity to touch- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Caminando la Muerte
A.K.A. ;; the walking death
OCCURRENCE ;; Uncommon
CURES ;; Bull Kelp
DESCRIPTION ;; The Walking Death is a slow, painful, somewhat contagious disease. It starts by slowly rotting the wolf from the inside out. The wolf can live up to two years with the disease. The further along the disease gets the more the wolf stinks of rot and death. The disease is painful in it's later stages. It resembles leprosy in the last few months of the wolf's life. Flesh rots off the body and the brain and heart start to deteriorate.
The walking disease starts by rotting the muscles and bones until the wolf is incredibly weakened. The wolf, essentially, begins to starve to death. This causes the disease to double its effects killing the wolf faster. This disease is fatal.
SYMPTOMS ;; Madness; increased weakness; frailty; decaying/death oder; fever; hallucinations (later stages)- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Influsomnia
A.K.A. ;; The Sleeping Fever
OCCURRENCE ;; Uncommon
CURES ;; Sleep, time.
DESCRIPTION ;; A virus that causes a wicked fever with the appearance of a coma. Afflicted individuals during the first few days will develop severe fever symptoms such as fatigue, weakness and loss of appetite. After 2 or three days the individual will collapse into a 'coma'. If the individuals are not cared after, this illness will become fatal. After approximately 2 weeks, if treated, the individual will regain consciousness and recover.
SYMPTOMS ;; Shivers, loss of appetite, fatigue, body aches, respiratory complications, coma.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Diaboli Tenent
A.K.A. ;; Devil's Grasp
OCCURRENCE ;; Uncommon
CURES ;; Bergamot stalks lessen the vomiting if eaten and the juices helps to replenish the dry skin when applied. It also helps to fight the bacteria and remove it from the body.
DESCRIPTION ;; The cause of Disboli Tenent is similar to how one obtains tetanus. What makes it different is how it can also be spread through the air by the first affected lupe, giving it the ability to affect entire packs if the others aren't careful. The disease usually starts with a victim obtaining a deep puncture wound. The bacteria multiplies and causes a number of symptoms. At first, the victim may feel a tickle in their throat and be plagued with constant fatigue for days before the symptoms begin to progress into headaches, high fever, body aches, and difficulty swallowing the usual foods, along with weakness in the jawline. Within a weeks time vomiting and random nose bleeds threaten dehydration and slight blood loss causing dizziness and perhaps vertigo upon standing. In two weeks time, an ugly, ugly rash spreads over every inch of the victims body including sores in the mouth and throat followed by continuous episodes of the symptoms stated above. In the final and most threatening stage, the victim suffers from painful trismus (lockjaw) and muscle spasms so severe they risk breaking bones or dislocating a limb.
After effects include: Deep scarring where sores once were, Broken bones, fatality if not treated with Bergamot in the early stages, or if the victim is not taken care of while muscle spasms occur. Starvation is also a risk if not treated, due to painful lockjaw.
SYMPTOMS ;; Fever, Fatigue, Body Aches, Vomiting, Dry skin, Nose bleeds, Itching (due to dry skin and rashes), Mouth sores, Severe rash, Muscle spasms-particularly in the face and legs, General weakness, Sensitive eyesight, Fur loss.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -RARE ILLNESSES AND DISEASES
NAME ;; Cruor Scabies
A.K.A. ;; Itchy Blood
OCCURRENCE ;; Rare
CURES ;; Itchy Blood is a mild illness that attacks the system and is expelled within 48-72 hours. The cure is time.
DESCRIPTION ;; Compulsive scratching that causes bruises and ruptures skin
SYMPTOMS ;; Scratching, loss of fur, excessive bleeding, and numbness- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; La mort de fusion
A.K.A. ;; Melting Death or Fusion virus
OCCURRENCE ;; Rare
CURES ;; No cure
DESCRIPTION ;; This virus is rare in most cases, but can become wide-spread if not taken care of immediately, due to it becoming airborne once it has attacked a host. The incubation period usually takes somewhere from 3 to 6 days and by then, there is no hope left for the carrier. What this virus does is basically melt you from the inside out and try to turn it's host into the virus itself. Your organs will tear and shrivel and slowly turn into nothingness while you, the carrier, are left to suffer and die inevitably. It is a gruesome way to die, but has not turned into a wide spread case as of yet, much thanks to the majority of the wolves being captured by the disease lonely suckers who didn't really think highly of sanitation.
SYMPTOMS ;; Severe headaches, Depression, Confusion, Lifelessness, Severe bleeding from nose, mouth, tear ducts, and any other exit blood can escape from, vomiting, bloody vomit containing ebony speckles, abdominal cramps, trouble sitting or laying down, sagging facial muscles and skin, painful coughing fits- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Sangrephilia
A.K.A. ;; Weak Blood
OCCURRENCE ;; Rare
CURES ;; No cures, although ingesting certain roots or barks may help decrease the amount of plasma, or increase the amount of platelets in the blood.
DESCRIPTION ;; A genetic disorder that is on the rare spectrum which causes a lack of platelets or excessive amounts of plasma, which in turn makes the blood thin and causes the inflicted to lack the ability for their blood to clot; meaning that they will bleed excessively and possibly die from smaller wounds that would not prove fatal for those without this condition.
SYMPTOMS ;; Chronic aches (head or chest) fatigue, random internal bleeding or coughing up blood.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Caro Perustum
A.K.A. ;; Warg's Disease, Flesh Consuming Disease
OCCURRENCE ;; Rare
CURES ;; Contraction of the Dementia virus
DESCRIPTION ;; A fatal disease that can be contracted through some types of blood infections. It rots away flesh in patches over time, eventually causing the wolf to give off a disgusting odor in the late stages due to the rotting skin. In the final stage, the wolf's skin is completely gone, leaving nothing but bone and muscle behind. This overexposure leads to their death, sometimes even before the disease has completely run its course. However, if a wolf has this disease then contracts the Dementia virus, it will halt the progression of the flesh rot. However, the effects are irreversible. Wolves with the Dementia virus are immune to this disease.
SYMPTOMS ;; Rotting flesh, fur falling out in patches, infection due to muscle exposure, loss of eyes, eventually death.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Oculi Carbo
A.K.A. ;; Coal Eye
OCCURRENCE ;; Very rare
CURES ;; None, though progression can be slowed down through consumption of a variety of plants.
DESCRIPTION ;; A genetic disease carried in a recessive allele, Coal Eye was originally thought to effect only the color of the eyes - turning the whites red and the iris black. However, Coal Eye can effect a number of the senses, though the eye is always effected. Coal Eye generally does not effect sufferers until their sixth or seventh year and is progressive. Tunnel vision or complete blindness can be combined with loss of hearing, making life much harder for the individual. It has also been said to effect the sense of taste. Carriers often have the strange eye colourings. However, this disease is very rare and pretty much unheard of in packs it has not previously affected.
SYMPTOMS ;; Strange eyes (red whites and black irises), tunnel vision or blindness, deafness or complete lack of hearing, lack of sense of taste- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME ;; Fabians Hydrophobia
A.K.A. ;; Cold Madness, Zombie Fits, Viper’s Mania
OCCURRENCE ;; Very Rare
CURES ;; None
DESCRIPTION ;; FH is a mutation of the Dementia virus. It’s caused by a drastic hormonal change within the body after living with Dementia for several years. Most causes are pregnancy, the time when a female body produces twice the hormones of a normal wolf, and puberty (those who contract FH at puberty are generally born with the Dementia virus). The change within the body is slow to complete, but the symptoms begin almost immediately after the hormone burst.
SYMPTOMS ;; Severe hallucinations, advanced schizophrenia, cannibalistic tendencies, slowed heart rate (an FB wolf’s heart beats twice per minute), poor daytime vision, memory lapses or short term memory loss, excessive bleeding and drooling, extreme aggression, and numbness.
